Afterschool @ the Library: Yarn Painting

Afterschool @ the Library: Yarn Painting

Get ready to create colorful, textured works of art using just yarn and glue! Kids in grades K–6 are invited to join us for Afterschool @ the Library on Wednesday, November 5 at 4 PM in the Crawford Room for a hands-on yarn painting activity inspired by the vibrant folk art of the Huichol people of Mexico.

This kid-friendly version of traditional yarn art swaps out beeswax for glue, making it easy (and low-mess!) for young artists to create their own stunning designs. Children will use yarn to outline and fill in simple drawings—building fine motor skills while getting creative with color and texture.

Whether your child is a seasoned crafter or just curious to try something new, this relaxing art activity is a great way to unwind after school and take home a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

All supplies are provided. For more information, call 577.7323.
