Afterschool @ the Library: The Storm Drain STEM Challenge
Children grades K-6 are invited to join us on Wednesday, April 1 at 4 PM in the Crawford Room for an exciting activity featuring our Storm Drain STEM Challenge.
In this fast-paced, hands-on activity, students will work in teams to design and build creative prototypes to retrieve items that have “fallen” into a storm drain. Using provided materials, participants will brainstorm, test ideas, problem-solve, and refine their designs as they race to develop the most effective solution. Along the way, we’ll explore engineering concepts, collaboration skills, and even empathy as we consider how and why we design solutions to help others.
This relaxed meetup is a fun way to add STEM learning and teamwork to your homeschool week while connecting with other families in the community. All supplies will be provided at no cost. Call 577.7323 for more information.
