Creative Aging: Brazilian Embroidery

Creative Aging: Brazilian Embroidery

Join us for the Library’s next Creative Aging Series, a unique opportunity for individuals 55+ to explore the intersection of art, culture, and tradition while fostering personal growth and community connection. From March 13 through May 1, every Thursday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, we’ll embark on a journey of creativity and cultural discovery.

This Spring’s Feature: Brazilian Embroidery

Under the expert guidance of Lisa Esterline, this eight-week course delves into the vibrant world of Brazilian Embroidery, a unique form of dimensional embroidery known for its intricate designs and rich textures. Participants will learn a variety of stitching techniques to create beautiful, raised floral and decorative motifs, gaining skills that blend artistry with tradition.

The program includes:

  • Hands-on instruction in Brazilian Embroidery techniques and design.
  • Exploration of the cultural significance and history behind this distinctive art form.
  • A welcoming environment for both beginners and experienced embroiderers.
  • All materials provided at no cost.
