Afternoon Book Club: "The First State of Being" by Erin Entrada Kelly

Afternoon Book Club: "The First State of Being" by Erin Entrada Kelly

Teens in grades 7 and 8, join us for a lively discussion of Newbery Medal winner "The First State of Being" by Erin Entrada Kelly on Saturday, April 12 at 2 PM at Metro Coffee Co. in downtown Casper.

This New York Times and Indie bestseller, and 2024 National Book Award finalist, blends science fiction and historical fiction in a thought-provoking story set in 1999. It follows a lonely teenager who discovers he has a unique ability that defies time itself. As he grapples with friendships, identity, and the possibility of changing the past, The First State of Being explores what it truly means to connect—with others and with the world around us.

The Afternoon Book Club is the perfect chance to chat about great books, connect with friends, and share your thoughts in a relaxed setting. Pick up your free copy of the book ahead of time in the Teen Zone while supplies last.
