Afterschool @ the Library: Chinese Rattle Drum

Afterschool @ the Library: Chinese Rattle Drum

The Lunar New Year/Spring Festival is the most important holiday in China. Beginning on February 1st this year, the celebration culminates on February 15 with the Lantern Festival. Students in grades K-6 are invited to join us after school at the Library on Wednesday, February 9th at 4 PM to learn about both the Lunar New Year and the Lantern Festival, and create a traditional Chinese Rattle Drum, a popular children's toy that has been around for nearly 1,000 years. This educational craft program will allow kids an opportunity to experience another culture's traditions while gaining an appreciation for the "how" and "why" behind them. All supplies provided at no cost. Call 577-7323 for more information.
