Genealogy Workshop: "Homesteading," presented by Marcia Stroh

Genealogy Workshop: "Homesteading," presented by Marcia Stroh Online

The Natrona County Genealogy Society, in partnership with the Natrona County Library, will hold a Genealogy Workshop on Thursday, February 17th at 6:30 PM in the Crawford Room. Marcia Stroh will be presenting on "Homesteading".

The Homesteading Act was signed into law by President Abraham Lincoln in 1862. It stated that all men and women, who were loyal to the United States—whether they were naturalized immigrants, slaves, or tenant farmers—and head of the family and over the age of 21, could receive 160 acres in the "remaining 30 states". Searching homestead records is a useful way to discover more information about your ancestors.

Come early to network and share your own genealogy stories with others! This program is free and open to the public. Call 577-7323 for more information. Please join us in person or via Zoom. To join by Zoom please enter the following link into your browser: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88122616490
